He was predeceased by: his father Ivan Smith (LaVonne Smith). He is survived by: his mother Pauline Smith (Alquist); his children, Shelley Graves (Brian), Eric J. Smith (Robyn) and Sheila Riggs; his grandchildren, Skylar Smith, Annalee Smith, Merea Smith, Zane Smith, Barrett Smith, Camden Riggs, Hayden Riggs and Jaren Riggs; and his siblings-in-law, JoAnnette Regier, Sandra Huebert and Jerry Young. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Higby-McQuiston Mortuary (1404 L St, Aurora, NE 68818). A graveside service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 9:45 AM at the Hampton City Cemetery (2105 E 13 Rd, Hampton, NE 68843). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Aurora Evangelical Free Church (1202 A St, Aurora, NE 68818).
Memorials may be made in care of family to be designated at a later date.
