He was predeceased by: his parents, Milford Johnson and Gertrude Johnson (Stach); his daughter Beverly; his son-in-law David Smith; his brother Gordon Johnson; his stepmother Helen Johnson; and his sister-in-law Gloria Bamesberger (Deana Lincoln).
He is survived by: his wife Kathy of Hampton; his children, Bradley Johnson (Marsha) of North Platte and Sandra Blender (William) of Grand Island; his grandchildren, Aaron Blender (Ashley) of Grand Island, Aric Blender (Kaci) of Kearney, Stephanie Bailey (Johnson) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Cody Johnson (Caitlin) of San Antonio, TX, Ethan Smith of Huntsville, AL and Courtney Smith (James Espinosa) of North Platte; his great grandchildren, Eli, Noah Blender, Dax Blender, Ashlyn VanEperen and Emersyn VanEperen; his grandchildren, Zoey Bailey, Harper Bailey and Willow Bailey; his sister-in-law Alice Johnson of Polk; his stepbrothers, John Lincoln of Bellevue and Alfred Lincoln (Susie) of Kearney; and his brothers-in-law, Laverne Bamesberger (Bernie) of Marquette, Eugene Bamesberger (Petra) of Hampton, Dale Bamesberger (Karen) of Hampton and Dean Bamesberger of Hampton. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Lutheran School and Orphan Grain Train.
