He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Stec and Agnes Stec (Lazarowicz); his son Eric Thomas; and his siblings, Greg, Leo, Alfred, George, Anthony, Stanley, Joseph Stec, Pauline Kosmicki and Bernice Voller.
He is survived by: his wife Rosella Stec (Rosie) of Gretna; his sons, Jeffrey J. Stec (Melinda) of Omaha and Bruce A. Stec of Omaha; his daughter-in-law Robin Stec of Omaha; his grandchildren, Tori, McKenna, Hanna, Keaton, Hayden, Kathryn and Reid; and his sister Teresa Murphy (Jay) of Stockton, Kansas. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews and numerous friends.
