It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Laverne Jones in Gretna, Nebraska, born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, who passed away on August 21, 2023, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Morris L. Jones and Elizabeth C. Jones (Harvey); his parents-in-law, Richard and Virginia Moeller (Finley); his brother-in-law Matthew Moeller; and his niece Jennifer Moeller (Perks).
He is survived by: his wife Karin (Colo); his sons, Brady (Michael Crowe) and Shaun (Cara Erskine); his grandchildren, Aubree, Kinslee, Hudson and Emery; his aunt Ruth Jones; his siblings, Marcia Yaffe (Steve) and H. David Jones; and his siblings-in-law, Michael Moeller (Renee Murray) and Donna Whaley. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate written stories, memories, and other personal reflections about John that will be compiled into a memory book, which can be shared with his young grandchildren as they grow up. Memorials can be made to the Banner County School Foundation for a scholarship fund in his name or the Teammates Mentoring Program.
