He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Poppe and Elva Poppe (Lipps); his former wife Pauline Boehmer; his son Alan; his grandchildren, Jeremy and Megan; and his brothers, Lawrence and Orville.
He is survived by: his brother Fred Upright; his wife Wanda; his children, Maria Eichner (Kim) of Ogallala, Leland Poppe (Cathy) of North Platte, Rhonda Menghini (Todd) of Scottsbluff and Brian Poppe (Kristen) of Falls City; and his daughter-in-law Michele Poppe of Elkhorn. He is also survived by 13 Grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church in Grant or Western Sky CCC in LaVern's memory.
