He was predeceased by: his parents, Hyle Junior and Eva Jean Smith (Lowry); his son Michael Smith; and his siblings, Michael B. Smith and Patricia Sorensen.
He is survived by: his wife Becky Wassinger; his daughters, Nicole Turechek of Stratford, CT and Jaime Brown of Wichita, KS; and his grandchildren, Delaney, Deanna, Bryce, Leah, Rachel, Memphis, Nicholas and Michael.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Blessed Sacrament Church (518 W State St, Grand Island, NE 68801). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.
