Backer of Grand Island, Nebraska, born in Stockham, Nebraska, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 12, 2024 at the age of 94. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Janzen and Kathryn Janzen (Penner); and her sister Alma Witkowski. She is survived by: her son Thomas Backer (Jody) of Grand Island; her grandchildren, Kayla Hasselmann (Dustin) and Dr. Nate Backer; her great grandchildren, Lillian, Ashton, Bentyn and Hudstyn; her close friends, Joel, Dee Ferris, Andrew Ferris (Sheena) and Scott Ferris (Shaylon); and also, Caden, Clayton, Cash, Stella, Sterling, Tennyson and Landric.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
