He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lawrence Stear and Francis Stear (Kerr); his wife Joan Thomason; his children, Shane and Susan; his grandchildren, Treasure, Ashleigh, Alex Stear and Mercedes Maddox; his great grandchild Kinsley Drew Benoist; his son Jeffrey; his grandson Andrew Stear; and his sisters, Sharon (Bowen) and Shirley (Paulsen).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gothenburg Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, Gothenburg Hospital Foundation, Gothenburg Senior Center or a charity of choice.
