He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Rippen and Laura Rippen (Lemmerman); his wife Julia Davis; and his siblings, Hazel Jenkins, Melva McCartney, Naomi Junker, Julia Schutte, Delton Rippen and Kenneth Rippen.

He is survived by: his sons, David (Lori Rippen) and Craig (Michael Ann Rippen); and his grandchildren, Brittney, Todd Bagley, Crystal, Peter Delano, Chad Rippen, Charity and Chaz Critchfield. He is also survived by Great-Grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to Glenvil Volunteer Fire Department.
