The memory of Myrtle M. Halkyard of Gibbon, Nebraska, who passed away on December 25, 2024 at the age of 93, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Myrtle leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Myrtle may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Oris C. McMahan and Ruby McMahan (Burgess); her husband Donald Halkyard; and her siblings, Jess McMahan and Patricia McMahan.
She is survived by: her children, David "Rusty" Halkyard (Mary) of Gibbon, Johnny Halkyard (Karen) of Gibbon, Debbie Chaney (Scott) of Kearney and Dee Krolikowski (Duane) of Gibbon. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; as well as several extended family.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Faith United Church (203 Garfield St, Gibbon, NE 68840). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
