She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Smith and Doris Smith (Stratton); and her sister Adrienne Durnal. She is survived by: her husband Roger Abner; her children, Bryan Abner (Mikaela) of Atkinson, NE and Sheri Ehler (Jay) of Sidney, NE; her sisters, Earlynn Lawrence of Alliance, NE and Anita Rein (Gary) of Chadron, NE; her grandchildren, Bowdy Ehler (Kassie), Paxton Ehler, Alli Jay Ehler, Zane Abner (Jen), Addie Rossman (Bryce), Sierra Hansen and Garrison Hansen; and her great grandchildren, Finlea, Graham, Rhett Ehler, Haven, Kline, McCoy Abner, Slate and Beckett Rossman.

Memorials may be given to the Meals On Wheels program or the Foster Grandparent Program.

“Your dear mother was always ready with a smile and ready for a visit when ever i would run into her---usually at Walmart. We go back a long way together. I believe we first met whe we moved to Gering in the early 60s.. She was most welcoming. No matter how long the time between out seeing one another, we always had something to talk about. That was just the kind of person Sharon was. Open and caring. She leaves this world an empty place in our hearts. With much sorrow, Virginia Sides”
