He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Thompson; his son Gene Wegner; his children-in-law, Dennis Mead and Candy Thompson; and his parents-in-law, Jerome, Forrest "Brick" Thompson (Mary), Loren "Sonny" Rittenhouse, Donna Rittenhouse, Ray and Phoebe Rittenhouse (Predmore).
He is survived by: his friend Dorothy Robinson; his children, Joy Skinner, Dee Dee Mead, Michael Thompson, Barb Marrill, Linda Garvin (Bill), Cheryl Wegner, Patti Massie and Cindy Medley (Boyd); and his siblings, Raymona Williams (Larry) and Earl "Rusty" Thompson. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
