She was predeceased by: her parents, William Earl Chamberlain and Bernice Louise Chamberlain (Warner); her daughter Wendy Baur; and her siblings, Earl Chamberlain and Darlene Schuppan.
She is survived by: her husband James E. Nichols; her daughter Patricia (John Duckworth); and her siblings, Gen Ennis and Doug Chamberlain of LaGrange. She is also survived by six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and twelve nieces and nephews and more great nieces and nephews.
During elections campaigns, she would say she wished all the candidates would take half their advertising money and donated it to groups that would feed hungry children.
