He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Smith and Ruth Smith; and his brother Delbert Smith. He is survived by: his wife Wilma Irene Van Winkle; his children, Max Smith (Vicki) of Gering, NE, Douglas Smith (Janice) of Arvada, CO, Michael Smith (Deb Pebley) of Scottsbluff, NE and Donna Cline (Lance) of Gering, NE; and his sister Barb Dalke (Arlie) of Arizona. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to Bluffview Church of Christ or Regional West Hospice.
