He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Benzel and Pauline Benzel (Dahlberg); his wife Carol Meisner; his brother Bernard Benzel; his siblings-in-law, Conrad Fritzler and Lana Meisner; and his parents-in-law, Herman and Emilie Meisner.
He is survived by: his daughter Jana Richter (Steve) of Gering; his granddaughters, Lindsey Bruckner (Dustin) of Gering and Stefani Richter (Brandon Colfack) of O'Neill, NE; his great grandchildren, Ivy, Eli, Declan and Millie; and his brother-in-law Randy Meisner of Studio City, CA.. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
