He was predeceased by: his parents, Ella Meedel and Frederick Meedel; his wife Aretta Meedel; his daughters, Laurie Liss, Tamara Meedel and Robyn Smotherman; his friend Dolores Wilfong; and his brother Milton Meedel.
He is survived by: his children, Virgil, Lincoln, Marilyn Larson (Doug) and Jim Meedel (Shari); and his brother Don Kummer (Donna). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
