He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Vavra and Lillian Vavra; his parents-in-law, Pete and Edna Garrett; his siblings-in-law, Victor Hladky, Dean and Charlotte Garrett; and his niece Shelby Lemke.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jana Marie and Jodene Renae; his brothers, Maury Nichols and L. J. Webb; his husband Ike Drake; his daughter Jana Slezak; his son-in-law Billy Slezak of Milligan; his daughter Jodene Lovegrove; his son-in-law Tom Lovegrove of Fairmont; his grandchildren, Shane (Jasmine Slezak) of Milligan, Shawn (Jennifer Slezak) of Milligan, Taylor Slezak (Joey Gilmer) of Milligan, Whitney Lovegrove and Sydney Lovegrove of Fairmont; his siblings, Shirley Hladky of Seward and Edwin Vavra; his sister-in-law Beth Vavra of Milligan; his close friend Mary Drake of Dorchester; his great grandchildren, Noah, Lily, Kaydence, Jade and Lennon; and his pet Zoie. He is also survived by nieces and nephew and a host of other relatives and friends.
