It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ruth L. Obrist (Geneva, Nebraska), who passed away on May 12, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Shepek and Amelia Shepek (Rytych); her husband Gerald Obrist; her son Luke McMullen; and her brother Alvin Shepek.

She is survived by: her former husband Grover "Toby" McMullen; her stepdaughters, Becki (Dan Waldron) and Kristi Grashorn; her sister Alice (Harlan Fangmeyer); and her grandchildren, Angel McMullen-Gunn, Patrick McMullen, Andy Waldron, Jennifer Jasnoch, Nicole Juarez-Ferris and Brett Grashorn. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
