He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin W. Houck and Juanita G. Houck (Magee); and his brother Keith Houck. He is survived by: his former wives, Alice Washburn and Susan Scofield; his wife Betty Shipferling of Ohiowa, Nebraska; his children, Sherry Gardner of Deltona, Trina Long (Jason) of Geneva, Nebraska, Darwin Houck, Jr. of Stromsburg, Aaron Houck of York and Marcus Houck of Geneva, Nebraska; his stepchildren, Steve Kramer (Becky) of Western, Johnny Kramer (Melissa) of Geneva, Laurie Shipps (Marty) of Fairmont, Kathy Covert of Gresham and Kelly Braca (Joe) of Geneva, Nebraska; and his siblings, Jan Ells (Gene) of Hebron, Margaret Taylor (George), Fran Alger of York, Nebraska and Rick Houck (Karen) of Kansas. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
