He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Poggensee and Mabel Poggensee (Beahr); his wife Dorothy Welty; his siblings, Edward, Melvin, Irvin, Christine Poggensee, Irene Erhlich, Ruby Osborne and Orleata Cades; and his grandchildren, Michael and Jessica Ernstmeyer.
He is survived by: his children, Carol Thompson of Fremont, Denise Ussery (Tom) of Roseville, CA and Ronald Poggensee of Reno, NV; and his sister-in-law Gloria Thege of Fremont. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont.
