He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Nelson of Fremont; his sons, Dirk Nelson (Grace) of Little Rock and Kory Nelson (Kim) of Parker, CO; his granddaughter Alyssa Nelson; his stepdaughters, Janie Clopper (John) of Fremont and Kathy Clapper of Omaha, NE; his stepgrandchildren, Brianna Cassidy (Cortland), Kailey Hanson (Donald), Mandy Nesheim (Leif), Ryan Gabrukiewicz (Chelsey), Sanjiwani Benedict (Loren), Bandhana Rai, Selina Rai (Mickey) and Anupam Rai (Bhagwati); his stepgreat-grandchildren, Luke, Sylvia Nesheim, Jayson, Jude, Jarret Gabrukiewicz and Aawaz Rai; and his nephews, Mike Swindell (Kathleen), Doug Swindell (Geralyn) and David Swindell (Jill).
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Fremont Presbyterian Church or Fremont Cosmopolitan Club 100.
