We are sad to announce that on December 11, 2023, at the age of 65, John Liston (Fremont, Nebraska) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Clayton Liston and Ruth Liston (Meier); and his brother James Liston. He is survived by: his children, Victoria (Matt Tomanek), Valerie (Nick Prenzlow), Adam (Mandi Liston), Alex and Brandy Liston (Kathy Liston) of Elkhorn, NE; his sister Joan Licht of Hooper, NE; his stepson Jason Hinds of Beumont, TX; his grandchildren, Brenna, David Prenzlow, Ella, Lane, Kyla, Cal Tomanek, Brooks, August, Scarlett Liston, Lilly and Clayton Liston; and his stepgranddaughter Tristen Hinds.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested toward the John Liston Memorial Fund, which has been set up to fund charities and missions near and dear to John's heart.

“My prayers and condolence go out to John’s family. I worked for John as a teenager growing up in Hooper. John was a very kind man. He trusted me with very little training to operate his tractors, watch over the animals and all other chores he needed done. I’ll always cherish those memories of running the tractor on John’s farm land. He gave me added income to help me fund my college. He helped install that Nebraska work ethic as a young man. I’ll always be grateful for John.”
