He was predeceased by: his parents, James Doksansky and Rose Doksansky (Dolezal); his wife Iris Christensen Smith; his son-in-law Jim Harris; his nephew Chuck Gruber; and his siblings-in-law, Eileen Musbach, Rochelle Sherper, Linda Christensen, Tom Wollen, Don Sherper, Alan Musbach and Bob Gruber.
He is survived by: his sister Dolores "Dodi" Gruber; his grandchildren, Shaun Smith, Jody Hintz of Fremont, NE, William Sanders (Emily) of Portland, OR, Tara Smith of Fremont, NE, Samantha Wright (Rudy) of Gatesville, TX, Elizabeth Sanders of Seguin, TX, Benjamin Sanders of Ardmore, OK, Tom Moissl, Noa Marie Moissl and Nya Lina Smith of Rothenbergen, Germany.; his siblings-in-law, Valarie Wollen, Carol Reeg and Larry Christensen; and also, Steve, Tom, Greg, Dan, Dick, Mike Gruber, Bess Searles and Kathy Rose. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, his nieces, nephews, and cousins, including his sister.
Memorials are suggested to Fremont Veterans Park.
