It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Downing Jr. of Fremont, Nebraska, born in Fullerton, Nebraska, who passed away on December 8, 2021, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Sr. Downing and Violet Downing (Sargent); his wife Mary Heimbegner; his stepdaughters, Ramona Bubnis and Maria Howard; his sister Lois Downing; and his close friend Dolores Sweet.
He is survived by: his daughters, Janie McDaniel of Fremont and Mary Mulder (George) of Fremont. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
