He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Peterson and Leone 'Jewell Peterson; his wife Dorothy Hegstedt (Florene); his sisters, Marjorie Magnuson and Kathryn Peterson; his grandson John Maresh; his stepson Gregg Scheer; and his daughter-in-law Glenda Peterson.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Scheer (Franke); his children, Mark Peterson of Burleson, Bryan Peterson (Vicki) of Omaha, Karen Maresh (Ron) of Dodge and Carol Lindley of Tulsa, Oklahoma.; his stepson Randy Scheer (Kris) of Lincoln; his stepdaughter-in-law Mary Scheer of Omaha; his grandchildren, Jill Gorr, David Maresh, Dan Maresh and Lora Shadwick; his stepgrandchildren, Ashely Bruning (Drew) and Hunter Scheer; his great grandchildren, Maddux, Easton Gorr, Samuel, Miles Shadwick, Grayson, Evelyn and Julia Maresh; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Lucas and Calia Brunning; and his pet Allie.
