With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen Backens of Fremont, Nebraska, born in Garland, Nebraska, who passed away on January 23, 2022 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Stanley Maly and Helen Maly (Pokorny); her husband Lawrence Backens; and her brothers, Richard Maly, Eugene Maly and Billy Maly Sr..
She is survived by: her children, Dianne Backens (Randy Gentry) and Doug Backens (Angie) of Fremont; and her siblings, Stan Maly of Cameron, MO, Robert Maly (Linda) of Fremont, Janice Callahan of Omaha, NE, Martha Jungers (Dean) of Bellevue, NE and Kathy Hall (Duane) of Wahoo. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. 5 step-grandchildren and 3 step- great grandchildren.
