It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene Jacob (Fremont, Nebraska), born in Wausa, Nebraska, who passed away on June 9, 2023, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur "Melvin" Jacob and Velda Jacob (Volkers); his siblings, Marvin, Donald, Dale, Dean, Kenneth Jacob' and Sharon Hamm; his son-in-law Ricky Stolley; and his brothers-in-law, LaVern Opkis, Lyle Tranmer and Duane Hamm.

He is survived by: his daughters, Laura Stolley, Shawn Newill (Fred) of Fremont and Janita Jacob-Dixon (Paul) of Hooper, NE; his siblings, Larry Jacob (Terri) of Fremont, Melva Tranmer of Pierce, NE, Carol Stalling (Steve) of Wausa, NE and Ellen Opkis of Creighton, NE; his sisters-in-law, Darla Jacob, Beresford, S. D. and Marilyn Jacob of Bloomfield, NE; and his grandchildren, Tabitha Stolley, Jacob Newill, Kaidynse "Cyrus" Jacob, Michael Stolley, Garren Dixon and Leah Dixon. He is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren.
