He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick and Hortense. He is survived by: his children, Rocklyn Schweser (Kristine) of Omaha, Dixene Reinecke (Bryan) of Elkhorn and Dustin Schweser of Elkhorn; his grandchildren, Derek, Grant Schweser, Morgan and Brooke Reinecke; and his siblings, Barbara Smith (Hal) and Robert Schweser.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lutheran World Relief.
