He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel "Dan" Shanahan and Wilhelmina "Minnie" Shanahan (TePoel); his siblings, Howard (Mignon), James, Vivian Lorenz (Mel), Marjorie Moraczewski (Leo) and Juanita McGonigal (Leo); and his daughter-in-law Leslie Shanahan.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Joyce Bloch; and his children, James "Jim" Shanahan (Lena) of Phoenix, AZ, Daniel "Mike" Shanahan of Omaha, Robert "Bob" Shanahan (Mary) of North Bend and Catherine "Kate" Gokie (Richard) of Seward, NE.. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
