With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alfred J. Benes of Fremont, Nebraska, born in Wahoo, Nebraska, who passed away on March 4, 2023 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Benes and Agnes 'Cermach Benes; and his sister Sylvia Andersen. He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Hurst of Fremont; his daughter Michelle Steele of Hooper; his stepchildren, Mike Hurst (Deb) of Blair, Steve Hurst of Fremont and Christine Haluzak (Erik) of Corvallis, OR.; his siblings-in-law, Dwayne Andersen of Tekamah, LaRue Lahvic of Scottsdale, AZ. and Diann Bergt (Greg) of Omaha; his niece Vicky Elliott (Larry); and his nephews, Clint Andersen (Vicky) and Larry Andersen (Kim). He is also survived by nine step-grandchildren, two step great grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or Cancer-for-Kids.
