It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Joseph Schmitt of Fordyce, Nebraska, born in Omaha, Nebraska, who passed away on October 31, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Schmitt and Dolores Schmitt (Wiepen); and his sister Betty Yousef. He is survived by: his pet Walter; his siblings, Alan Schmitt of West Point, UT and Janine Berke (Mark) of Simpsonville, SC; his nieces and nephews, Raed, Rania, Rami, Rashad Yousef, Jennifer, Michael Schmitt, Zachary and Allyson Berke; and his brother-in-law Bassam Yousef.
