We bid farewell to Deacon Richard J. Drueke of Firth, Nebraska, born in West Point, Nebraska, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 5, 2024 at the age of 81. Deacon Richard touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Drueke and Agnes Drueke (Johnson); and his sister Agnes Ann Drueke. He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Gehrken; his brother Henry of West Point; his children, Tim of Rock Hill, Brian (Juli) of Elkhorn, Teri Chasten (David) of Westminster and Jennifer Kirby (Robert) of The Dalles, Oregon; and his grandchildren, Emily, Kate, Jon Drueke, Peter Chasten and Reed Kirby.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Roeder Mortuary - Gretna Chapel (11710 Standing Stone Dr, Gretna, NE 68028). A rosary was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St Patrick Catholic Church (508 W Angus Rd, Gretna, NE 68028). A burial was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 at the Holy Sepulcher Cemetery (23131 Schram Rd, Gretna, NE 68028).
