He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. M. U. Burton and Elisebeth Burton (Gist); his wife Mary; his siblings, Betty June Kentopp (Warren) and Dr. Robert Burton (Judy); his granddaughter Hattie Burton; his son-in-law Bill Simon; and his sister-in-law Eleanor Hill.
He is survived by: his children, Cindy Kopf (Tom), Cece Simon of Falls City, Tom Burton (Dana) of Hardin, MO, Bob Burton (Krista) of Lincoln, NE and Tim Burton (Mary) of La Connor, WA; his foster son Richard Burton (Susan) of Lincoln, NE.; his grandchildren, Katie Milius (Greg), Dan Simon (Kristi), Nicole Georges (Thomas), Mary Simon, Melissa White, Brian Kopf, Lisa Stoll (Dylan), Julianne Maze (Derek), Tommy Burton (Allyson), Mathew Burton (Sarenna), Abby Burton, Elly Burton (Micah), Schumacher, Robert Burton (Amanda), McLain Burton, Abram Burton, Preston Burton, Blake Burton and Cali Burton; and his siblings-in-law, Jan McMullen and Carl Hill. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Dorr & Clark Funeral Home (2303 Harlan St, Falls City, NE 68355). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
