He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Bangert and Edna Bangert (Buchholz). He is survived by: his wife Lana of Falls City; his children, Jessica Binder (Michael) of Falls City, Adam (Madison) of Falls City, Ryan of Barada, NE and Aly Bangert (Shane Campbell) of Lincoln, NE; and his siblings, Mary McKeighan of Omaha, NE, Elizabeth Moffatt of Denver, Sister Theresa Bangert of Kansas City, KS, Rita Cavataio of Stafford, VA, Margaret McMeeking (Mike) of Omaha, Dolores Barrientos (Carlos) of Omaha, Joan Scheel (Mike) of Lincoln, Patricia Doig (David) of Denver, John (Cindy) of Falls City, Charles (Doloris) of San Francisco and Joe (Susan) of Falls City. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to Family Choice for later designation.
