It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Katherine Gilbert of Falls City, Nebraska, born in Sabetha, Kansas, who passed away on January 6, 2024, at the age of 103, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Nohl and Ona Nohl (Curran); her husband William "Bill" J. H. Gilbert; her sisters, Avis Beer and LaVerna Taylor; and her grandson Bruce Mapes.

She is survived by: her children, Shirley Mapes of Omaha, NE and Fred (Sandy) of Falls City. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, many great and great-great-grandchildren.
