She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Grote and Minnie Grote (Golter); her husband Lavern Holtmeier; and her children, Sondra Hafer, Diane Delka and Boyd Holtmeier.

She is survived by: her daughter Verla Barber (John) of Lincoln, Nebraska; her children-in-law, Richard Hafer of Fairmont, Dale Delka of Superior, Nebraska and Paula Holtmeier of Hay Springs, Nebraska; and her sister Virginia Haake of Lincoln, Nebraska.. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
