He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Weichel and Meta Weichel (Grummert); and his brothers-in-law, Herman Freese and Robert Chaloupka. He is survived by: his siblings, Lillian Weichel Freese of Plymouth, NE, Marian Weichel Chaloupka of Lincoln, NE and Glen Weichel (Marjorie) of Beatrice, NE. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorials will go to Peace Lutheran Cemetery Fund.
