He is survived by: his siblings, Danne Melander of Des Moines, IA and Carol Kujath of Beatrice, NE; his children, Tim Melander (Karla) of Farmersville, TX, Vicki, Bradley Jay Melander (Diane) of Beaufort, SC, Debra Smith (Ron) of Lincoln, NE and Jodi Dewey (Marc) of Beatrice, NE; his grandchildren, Jeremy Melander, Ryan Melander, Eric Maschmeier, Erin Spragg, Tyson Maschmeier, Melissa Smith, Travis Smith, Stephan Smith, Tanner Dewey and Jacob Dewey; and his great grandchildren, Karalyn, Lilian, Marley Melander, Mason Ulmer, Landyn, Trevor, Paityn Maschmeier, Devin, Wyatt, Madden Spragg, Hailey and Ramon Marolf. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home (2414 H St, Fairbury, NE 68352). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Fairbury Cemetery (56924 PWF Rd, Fairbury, NE 68352).
