He was predeceased by: his parents, Jean Bales (Harris) and Lewis Dale Bales; his brother Buddy; his mother-in-law DeLores Dougherty; and his brother-in-law Rodney Dougherty.
He is survived by: his wife Caryn Dougherty; his children, Scott (Lisa) of David City, Neb, Sharee Young (Ross) of Lincoln, Neb and Samantha Deloske (Chad) of Gretna, Neb; his grandchildren, Coy, Kate, Ellie, Merritt, Alexandra, Henry and Benjamin; his brother Ron (Linda); his father-in-law Paul Dougherty; his stepmother Dodie Bales; and his stepsisters, Diane Lalumandier (Norman) and Carla Jo Vance.
