With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dean L. Claassen of Emerson, Nebraska, born in Spencer, Nebraska, who passed away on June 2, 2021 at the age of 89. He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Claassen and Ruth Claassen (Baker); his brother Lloyd; and his granddaughters, Katie Koepke, Laura Koepke and April Claassen.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Saunders of Emerson, NE; and his children, Judy Jacobs of Eagle Lake, MN, Rick Claassen (Jackie) of Dakota City, NE, Mary Koepke (Keith) of Sioux City and Tim Claassen (Patty) of Umatilla, OR. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters; a brother; and many nieces and nephews.
