He was predeceased by: his parents, James Clifton and Ada E. Flint (Hopkins); his wife Verna Mae; his daughter Vicky Shirley; his siblings, Nancy Grayek, Donna Flint, Jim Flint and Ralph "Hoppy" Hopkins; and his brothers-in-law, Ed Sarr and Larry Grayek.
He is survived by: his children, Patricia Tate (Lewis) of Bertrand, Paula Osborn of Corvallis, Sandra Flint of Smithfield, Cheryl White (Larry Jr.) of Bertrand, Kent Flint of Bertrand and Walter "James" Flint (LeeAnn) of Elwood; his siblings, Charles Flint (Vicky) of Overton, Gary Flint (Cindy) of Lexington, Bonnie Flint of Kearney, Peggy Sarr of Elwood, Betty Hinds (Jack) of Lexington, Patsy Fisher of Atkinson and Dana Thornburg (Marv) of Lexington; and his sisters-in-law, Carol Hopkins of Soldotna and Evelyn Flint of Shickley. He is also survived by twenty two grandchildren and thirty six great-grandchildren.
