He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Nelson and Hattie Nelson (Gugat); his wife Sharon Jones; his daughter Stacey Nelson; his siblings, Donald, Harold, Gene, Charley and Leota "Bertha" Schropfer; and his niece Shari Westwood.
He is survived by: his daughter Kristen Nelson of Holbrook; his grandchildren, Cole Taylor of Arapahoe and Lora Taylor of Lincoln; his nieces, Kathy Hudson, Judy Schweer, Debbie Theye, Tammy Hoffman, Janie Schropfer, Becky Whitney, Connie Nelson and Cindy Richard; and his nephew Tom Nelson. He is also survived by many other relatives and extended family.
