He is survived by: his children, Kyle Winkel, Tara (Damon Marks) and Jason; his grandchildren, Taiden Przymus, Tanner Benson and Chase Benson; his stepgrandchildren, Lindsay Marks and Matthew Marks; and his siblings, Dianne Winkel, Dan (Carolyn Winkel), Ellen (Toli Polewik), Carole Anne (Dave Harmon), Steve (Nancy Winkel), Susan and Doug Boden (Terri Trudeau-Lortz).
