It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jerry Horst of Edgar, Nebraska, who passed away on December 20, 2020, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of Jerry Horst to show support.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Horst and Janice Horst (Kinnison); and his brother Jack Horst. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ogden of Edgar; his son John David Horst (JD) of Edgar; and his brothers, Jeff (Terri) of Lincoln and James (Sonie) of Beatrice. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given to the family to be designated at a later date.

“Jerry was my high school shop teacher, FFA Advisor, assistant football coach and friend. Jerry was a great teacher and mentor along with being an all around great guy. I will forever cherish the memories we made in the classroom, at state FFA conventions and on the football field. He is a fixture in the stories of high school I share with my children. I'm so sorry for your loss and may God give you comfort in your time of need. My thoughts and prayers to his family. Randy Stoffel”
