He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Floyd and Theadora Mary Bondegard (Andrews); his wife Ardis Ione Phipps; and his siblings, Donald, William, Bonnie Marshall, Shirley Alberelle and Joyce Wegener.

He is survived by: his sons, David Bondegard (Sharon), Michael Bondegard (Tracy) and Gary Bondegard (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Jason Bondegard (Kelly), Stacy McShane (Josh), Kara Esser (John), Kaley Heitmann (Blake), Jennifer Lowrey (Courtney), John Bondegard (Megan), Jeffrey Bondegard, Kelly and Shannon Schutlz; and his great grandchildren, Carson, Parker, Jaxon, Olivia, Josie, Emily, Oakley, Hallie, McKenna, Nolan, Claire, Lana, Brooks and Lauren. He is also survived by in-laws, nieces, nephews other relatives a host of friends.
