He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle E. Burger and Melva Jean Burger (Bockus); his son Steven G. Burger; and his brothers, David Burger (Denise) and Danny Burger.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Bethel of Dunbar; his children, Matthew Burger (Tammy) of Lincoln, Sarah Burger, Mike Gattenby of Independence, MO and Aaron Burger (Nicole) of Dunegal; his grandchildren, Allen Edwards, Tonya Sears, Joslynn Behrends, Collin Rees, Charlotte Ulfers, Gunnar Burger, Cheshire Burger, Theresa Doiel and Lowix Burger; his great grandchildren, Tristan, Austin, Lilly Edwards, Aurora, Juniper Sears, Avery and Chandler Behrends; his sisters, Phyllis Renz (Steve) of Superior, Ella Wathor (Curt) of Peculiar, MO and Patricia "Patty" Therien (Greg) of Oklahoma City, OK; and his sisters-in-law, Michelle Burger of Omaha and Debbie Burger of Council Bluffs, IA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Wherry Mortuary (202 N 3rd St, Tecumseh, NE 68450). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church (201 3rd St, Steinauer, NE 68441).
