He is survived by: his wife Ardis Kempkes of Douglas; his sons, Scott Kempkes of Douglas and Patrick Kempkes (Hope) of Waverly; his grandson Hudson Kempkes; his siblings, Bob Kempkes (Jan) of Sandown, NH, Don Kempkes of Lincoln, Patty Harms of Adams, Rosie VerMaas (Darrel) of Hickman, Dave Kempkes (Ann) of Imperial, Marilyn Bailey of Dwight and Christy Adams (Gary) of Berthoud, CO; his mother-in-law Evelyn Huenink of Firth; and his siblings-in-law, Arvin Huenink (Cindy) of Firth, Gale Huenink of Panama, Gary Huenink, Terry Huenink (Rhonda) of Lincoln, Todd Huenink (Marcia) of Holland and Lynnette Tate (Mark) of Vail, AZ. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family's choice.
