It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Wollenburg of DeWitt, Nebraska, who passed away on October 5, 2020, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Donald Wollenburg to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Wollenburg and Katherina Wollenburg (Bergmeier); his siblings, Raymond, John, Ernest, Otto, Bob, Gertrude, Lucille, Louise, Ruth and Vernes; his siblings-in-law, Katie, Phyllis, Lorene Wollenburg, Darlene Brown, John Welch, Jack Petree, Stan Foreman, Francis Powers (Mike), Eugene Bartunek and Steve Brown; and his nieces and nephews, Terry, Tanya, Debra, Tom and Gary.
He is survived by: his sons, Curtis Lee (Laurie) and Craig Lyn (Aimee); his grandchildren, Kayla Dee and Kelly Diane; his wife Shirlie; his daughters, Kayla Loosvelt (Doug) and Kelly Bagwell; his grandchildren, Justin (Kelsy), Brandon (Maizy), Christopher, Hannah Loosvelt, Carson Bagwell and Macoy Wollenburg; his great grandchildren, Brandt, Olivia and Weston; his siblings, Alfred Wollenburg and Kathryn Adams (Gary); and his sisters-in-law, Judy Wollenburg, Ann Wollenburg and Virgene Hoadley.
Due to COVID-19 concerns, the body will lie in state Friday from 11-8:00 PM at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice with the family greeting friends from 6-7:30 PM, and in state Saturday one hour preceding the funeral at the church.
A memorial has been established to the church and the Beatrice Community Hospital Home Health and Hospice programs with the funeral home in charge.
