Joan Ardelle Hummel Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Ardelle Hummel of Daykin, Nebraska, who passed away on January 28, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John Weerts and Elsie Weerts (Lind) of Meadow Grove; her siblings, Stanley and Elna Heckman (Jerry); her grandson James Hummel; and her siblings-in-law, Horace Hummel (late Ruth), Rosie Nietfeld (late Sam) and Rachel Peters (Stan).

She is survived by: her husband Kent Hummel; her children, Rhonda Miller (Bruce) of Paradise, Sonja Hummel-Dick (Doug) of Crete, Heidi Shafer (Carl) of Jacksonville, Kirsten Alagheband (Amir) of Vancouver, British Columbia, Katrina Kearns (Michael) of St. Charles and David Hummel (Annie) of Fairbury; her grandchildren, Mandy Miller Cohoe (David), Myles Miller (Phearen), Mindy Shafer (Steven Amerman), Elena, Sophie Alagheband, Alex, Aiden, Maddie Kearns, Coen, Bryn and Ada Hummel; her great grandchildren, Charlotte Cohoe and Zelda Cohoe; and her sister-in-law Shirley Schoenrock (late Ted). She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to the church in care of the church elders.
