He was predeceased by: his father James Rountree; his brother Steve Rountree; his grandparents, Willy Rountree, Helen, Frank Jarrot, Wayne and Mildred "Millie" Crawford; and his parents-in-law, Vern and Margaret Zeilinger.
He is survived by: his mother Joyce Rountree (Crawford) of David City; his wife Ruth Zeilinger of David City; his son Chip Rountree of Fairmont; his siblings, Toni Krepel (Larry) of Columbus, Bill Rountree of David City and Tammy Fehrer (John) of West Point; and his siblings-in-law, Jeannie Hecker (Mike) and Brian Zeilinger (Beth).
